I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

This book is one I can remember from my childhood, and one which remembered lead to quite a rabbit hole to locate and purchase. This book is a single bound edition of the woodland folk books by Tony Wolf. This book in a lot of ways has probably inspired a lot of how my imagination thinks about designing odd contraptions. From large soap bubble helicopters to wooden mechanical elevators this series contains many unique designs. Although there is a lot of fancy in both how the woodland creatures live and who they interact with, the mechanisms and devices they use contain a strong sense of believable design. It is those devices that I have always had the strongest memory of instead of the stories themselves.
